Catching Up With Shareowner Tom Rix

23rd October, 2018

We had the chance to catch up with one of our newest members to the Highclere family in Tom Rix, who along with his father Paul has joined the Highclere shareowner roster and already had their first winner in the famous two-tone blue silks when Pioneertown saluted on consecutive occasions earlier in the year. Please see below the interview with Tom to hear his story.

Tom's knowledge of shipping and brokering deals is not all that has come from the tutelage of fellow Highclere shareowner Peter Quirk, who has continued to foster his interest in racing and ownership through what can only be described as a 'racing friendly work environment' at Affintity Shipbroking in Crows Nest. As mentioned, in his first year of ownership he has ticked off the bucket list item of owning a metropolitan Saturday winner when Pioneertown saluted at Moonee Valley in August. And while we wont judge him for growing up a Queenslander, Tom has now established himself in Sydney with his wife in most recent years.

Tom is a regular race goer with Peter and his father Paul, who still resides in Mooloolaba but now also a proud Highclere owner, and represents the next generation of Highclere shareowners. We look forward to finding him his next winner in the Highclere silks in the not too distant future!
