Industry Exclusive With Arrowfield Bloodstock Director - Jon Freyer

19th September, 2018

We caught up with Arrowfield Bloodstock Director, Jon Freyer, ahead of the Australian breeding season as he discusses the prospects of exciting second season sire Dundeel after the recent success of his progeny heading into the Spring Carnival.

As a three-year-old Triple Crown and QEII Stakes winner himself, Dundeel's progeny were touted as being three-year-old classic prospects so it came as a pleasant surprise to see him siring two-year-old stakes winners in his first-season of juvenile runners. As you will hear from Jon Freyer in the video - CLICK HERE - it's not necessarily what we have already seen from Dundeel's progeny so far, but rather what we're about to see from his first crop of racing three-year-olds.

"He's emerging as a really cracking sire of classic horses. The phone has been ringing off the hook after the last few weeks with the results that have been coming through." Jon Freyer

Dundeel himself didn't come into his own until his three-year-old season so now is the time to be keeping an eye out for his progeny. With two-year-old Group 3 winning colt Irukandji and the highly touted Dealmaker heading towards the G1 Spring Champion Stakes this month, as well as other impressive first-up winners such as The Closer and I'm Dundreaming, there is no secret to why breeders are turning their attention to him as an up & coming sire of the future. In fact, since speaking to Jon Freyer, Dundeel's book has now already been fully subscribed for this season!

Your Chance to Race a Quality Prospect by Dundeel...

Highclere Australia are delighted to be in partnership with Arrowfield in the Dundeel ex Glove colt who, as you will hear from Jon, was a star from the day he was born and stood out to Arrowfield as being a beautiful moving colt and in the very mould of his Champion Racehorse sire. In training with Bjorn Baker, this colt has done nothing but please his trainer and is showing the signs of being an Autumn two-year-old prospect. Please CLICK HERE to see his progress, where you will hear directly from Bjorn.
