Ryan Moore To Take The Reins from Bowman on Libran

7th November, 2018

Following the suspension of Hugh Bowman after his Melbourne Cup ride, Ryan Moore has been booked to take over the piloting duties in Saturday's Queen Elizabeth Stakes on the final day of the Melbourne Cup Carnival. Libran is positioned as an $8 chance in early markets as he attempts to claim the $100,000 bonus on top of race prizemoney for being balloted out of Tuesday's Melbourne Cup field.

Chris and the team are confident of a peak performance from the aging stayer who's third in the Group 2 Moonee Valley Gold Cup looks good form dropping back in grade to Group 3 level on Saturday. "Obviously his form is good after running a very good race in the Moonee Valley Gold Cup, perhaps peaking on his run after coming from a long way back on a day it was hard to make up ground. From his good draw (4), despite having the top weight of 58kg, he is going to be very hard to beat." Chris Waller
