Deep Field Continues to Soar

Deep Field is the son of the late Northern Meteor, a Group 1 winning son of Encosta De Lago. Northern Meteor stood for 4 seasons at Widden Stud before passing away in 2013 but he certainly left a legacy on and off the track.
Northern Meteor was champion sire in his first season at stud and matched that in his second season. This record was rightly held as he became a fantastic sire of sires, not only with Deep Field but also Zoustar, Fighting Sun and Shooting to win.
Born in 2010 Deep Field was unbeaten at 3YO and is the highest-earning sire ever in Hong Kong.
Since he retired to stud in 2014 his progeny have surpassed $ 53 million in prize money and he looks to be a record breaker like his sire, already producing the likes of Group 1 winners, Portland Sky, Sky Field and Al Muthana to name a few.
Al Muthana just last week went on to win the King’s Plate in South Africa adding another notch to the belt of this fast-growing stallion.
His progeny continues to sell in 6 figures with a Filly sold at the recent Magic Millions sale reaching $470K.
Standing at Newgate Farm for a $88,000 service fee, it looks like it is onward and upwards for this young stallion.
