HIGHCLERE RACING’S WEEKLY NEWS

7/9/22
What another exciting week for Highclere Racing Australia. In case you missed it, Durston won the Listed Wyong Gold Cup on Friday. He is coming off a long break due to injury, so it is fantastic to see him back to his best. He was given a peach of a ride by champion jockey, James McDonald and although he has a wide barrier to overcome, once he got into the straight he was never in doubt. Congratulations to all of his connections, He has come through the run well so it certainly is exciting times ahead, especially as he still holds an entry into the Melbourne Cup.
Great House’s return was put on hold due to the heavy track making him a late scratching but there are a lot of options around for him, including Flemington this Saturday.
Korolev, like most Highclere horses at the moment, has drawn a bad barrier at Bendigo tomorrow so at this stage is unlikely to take his place in the field but it won’t be long until we see him on the track. Another 3YO, Armageddon, had his second trial for the preparation, where he was very pleasing running 2nd and Highland Cathedral is enjoying her rest in the paddock but will soon be back in work.
While the young kids are getting ready to make their mark, next weekend we look forward to last start winner, Bartholomeu Dias lighting up the track. He is proof that we get better as we age, he is at Annabel’s Queensland stable and is certainly enjoying the warmer weather.
The Highclere Racing Australia team is on fire so there isn’t a better time to join the stable. We still have limited ownership opportunities in Korolev, Highland Cathedral and Olympic Theatre so email info@highclereracing.com.au for more information, and as always make sure you follow us on socials to keep up to date with all the news.
