HIGHCLERE RACING WEEKLY NEWS

11/10/22
It has been a nervous week for Highclere Racing Australia as we are waiting to see if Great House and Durston make it into the Caulfield Cup on Saturday. Fields close tomorrow and as it stands it looks as though Great House should gain a run but Durston could be an emergency. There are backup plans for both horses as there is a lot of rain predicted in Melbourne in the next few days, which could rule both horses out, depending on how it affected the track. Either way, it is very exciting to have 2 horses being accepted for the Caulfield Cup and fingers crossed with some luck they can both sneak into the field.
While we nervously await that result some good news with the next round of Melbourne Cup acceptances out. Great House is number 18 in the ballot while Durston is 27 but with a field limit of 24, it is quite likely that both horses could be lining up on the first Tuesday in November. What an exciting time for Highclere Racing and all the connections of the Two horses.
Olympic Theatre was good last week and will also line up in Sydney on Melbourne Cup Day in the Little Dance worth $500K in prizemoney. He was ever so close in the Port Macquarie Cup but had to settle for second place, which is a great achievement for this lightly raced import.
Korolev also impressed at Ballarat on Friday, storming down the outside and looking like the winner but the post came up a little too quick and he had to settle for 3rd, but when he gets out over 2000m and beyond he looks like he will be very well suited.
Both horses as well as Highland Cathedral who is in the Bjorn Baker yard, all have limited shares available but if you want proven horses now is your time to jump in and reap the rewards. For more information email info@highclereracing.com.au There really is no better time to get involved.
Speaking of Highland Cathedral she is coming along well in her pre-training and it won’t be long before we see her back at the track. The same with Armaggedon who was very promising in his trials last preparation and will return to work in the next 2 weeks.
Bartholomeu Dias is enjoying his freshen. Being an older horse spacing his runs works the best for him so Annabel will take her time in selecting his next run, we could even see him at Flemington on the first Tuesday in November.
Spring is always exciting, but the quality of horses we currently have running makes it even more exciting. Make sure you check our socials to see who we have running on Saturday and all the news from Highclere Racing Australia.
