HIGHCLERE RACING’S WEEKLY NEWS

1/2/23
It has certainly been an exciting week for Highclere Australia. Highland Cathedral lined up at Newcastle on Saturday. Winona Costin gave her a great ride and although she fought hard she was just pipped on the post and ran 2nd. It was an improved run and she showed us on the track what she has been showing us at home, which is great. She will only improve with more distance so exciting things to come. Although her ownership group is almost full there are a couple of shares floating around, so if you don’t want to wait email info@highclereracing.com.au today and you can be at the races in a couple of weeks and even in the winners stall based off her last start, but don’t wait long, those shares will be snapped up in no time.
Durston also returned in a very pleasing trial at Warwick Farm. Up against the likes of Nature Strip, Fireburn, Zaaki and September Run just to name a few, Durston settled back in the field but finished off well. Considering 800m is far short of his distance it appears he has returned in fine style and we can’t wait to see him kick off in the Apollo Stakes next week. Although only over 1400m he is a horse that gives his all so I am sure he will give us a good run and improve as he gets out over his preferred distance. Either way it is very exciting to have him back at the races.
Our pre trainers, Great House and Korolev continue to please us as they start to build their fitness. Bartholomeu Dias has now returned to work and it won’t be long until Olympic Theatre is also back, so it will certainly be a full house for Highclere Racing and some very exciting times to come over the next few months.
We will enjoy the quiet week ahead before everything heats up next week, but as always make sure you keep an eye on our socials for all the Highclere Racing news and don’t forget to check out the horses available section of our website where you will find all the horses available, including Highland Cathedral.
