HIGHCLERE WEEKLY NEWS

14/7/23
Olympic Theatre was terrific winning at Hawkesbury on Sunday. With almost 8 weeks between runs over a distance a little shy of his best, it was a terrific training effort by Richard and Will Freedman and a great ride by Adam Hyeronimus to get the most out of him. He will now step out in distance and hopefully continue the good form.
Naval College was gallant last week at Randwick when finishing in the placings again. He has now headed out for a well-deserved spell and will return to run over the Summer months. He had such a terrific first preparation with 2 wins and 3 placings from 5 starts.
Speaking of returns, Durston is doing very well with his rehabilitation and it won’t be long until we see him back at the stables. As we have said all along, it is a slow road back but all signs are very positive to date.
Highland Cathedral is another Highclere horse ready to return, she has now had two trials to build her fitness and although she will improve off her first run we are looking forward to seeing her run in a few weeks time.
Bartholomeu Dias heads to Randwick tomorrow to line up over 1800m. He has run below expectations the last few starts so he will need to improve off those runs tomorrow but he has had a little freshen and all reports from the stable are that he is working well so fingers crossed he can be competitive tomorrow.
If you have been following our socials you will see many things are happening in the Off The Track space. Hint of Stars has been retired and has headed to Shory Park to be retrained and rehomed. He is such a lovely horse and we are sure he will have a lot of success in his life after racing. We would like to thank Matt Cumani and his team for all the work they put into him and like us, we know their team will be following his journey.
7 Horse Racing also featured a short piece on Lord Belvedere, Emily Hore-Lacy has given him so much love and support so we were pleased to be able to help pay the cost of his surgery and rehabilitation. We look forward to continuing to watch him progress.
Grinling is our other Off The Track star who has been rehomed with Claudia McDougall who is doing amazing work with him since she received him. He was very green and required a lot of hard work but hopefully, it will be all worthwhile.
We will follow all Three horses in their Off The Track journeys on our socials so make sure you are following our pages so you don’t miss a thing.
