HIGHCLERE RACING’S WEEKLY NEWS

18/1/2023
This week at Highclere Racing Australia saw Highland Cathedral run at Newcastle. It was certainly an improved run from the Highland Reel filly and shows she is looking to get out over even more distance. She hasn’t had the best of luck but hopefully, things are finally starting to go her way. With a few runs under her belt, we look forward to what she can do over the longer trips.
You may have seen on social media our other young gun with the Bjorn Baker stable, Armageddon had a trial on Monday and won very nicely. He has taken a little longer to mature but showed good signs early and looks like he is now ready to go to the races. This could be as early as next week but keep an eye on our socials for when he will make his racetrack debut.
Star of the moment Durston was due to trial but with the crazy Australian weather at the moment he has had a small setback but nothing of concern. The Caulfield Cup winner will be back at the trials in no time and ready to take on the Sydney Autumn Carnival.
Our other import, Hint of Stars with the Matt Cumani Stable who had a lovely run at his first Australian start, will line up a Moonee Valley on Saturday with Ben Melham in the saddle. Over a slightly longer distance, it will be good to see what he can do. He has certainly had his fair share of bad luck since arriving in Australia so hopefully, some good fortune is on the horizon for him and his connections.
With a few horses still in the paddock or starting their pre-training work, there isn’t too much to report this week but we are definitely looking forward to the next few months.
While many have been busy up on the Gold Coast at the Magic Millions sales, Highclere Australia is focusing on the import for now but if you don’t want to wait for a yearling we have horses already up and going with a few shares still available. Visit the ‘Horses Available’ section of the website or email info@highclerearcing.com.au for more information.
As always, keep an eye on our socials for all our runners and exciting news to come in the coming weeks.
