HIGHCLERE RACING’S WEEKLY NEWS

22/11/22
This week Highclere Australia had Olympic Theatre line up in the Queanbeyan Cup. He led and gave a good kick on the corner but unfortunately was grabbed right on the line to finish 2nd with Nick Heywood in the saddle. It was a good effort stepping up in distance and will only improve with the benefit of the run and more distance.
Highland Cathedral had her first trial back during the week and was very impressive finishing strong to run 3rd. She is likely to have one more trial and then head to the races. She is a lovely filly who has developed very nicely since last preparation so it is very exciting to have her back at the track.
Durston is well and has gone for a well-deserved rest. We look forward to seeing him again in the Autumn. He did an amazing job to win the Caulfield Cup, which we are still on a high from.
Great House has come through his last start in good order and could line up in the Zipping Classic this Saturday, he was a little disappointing last start and if the rain continues in Melbourne the track conditions might not suit but we will have to wait closer to race day and hope he can bounce back to the better form we know he is capable of.
You may have seen on our socials Grinling enjoying his retirement, he is being rehomed by Racing Hearts who do a fabulous job and we can’t wait to see him during his retraining and into his new life. Lord Belvedere also went to Racing Hearts to be retrained and is enjoying his life after racing. Keep an eye on our socials as we update you on both horses throughout their new journeys.
Hint of Stars and Armaggeddon are also shaping up nicely and we look forward to seeing them on the racetrack in the New Year.
We hope you have been enjoying getting to know some of our Highclere Owners, we will continue to put a few more of these videos out. It is wonderful to hear about how they got involved and their different experiences. If you would like to join them in ownership with Highclere Racing Australia email info@highclereracing.com.au
We also have an exciting announcement with a new horse to join the Highclere team within the next month so keep an eye out for that.
