HIGHCLERE RACING’S WEEKLY NEWS

23/8/22
This week at Highclere Racing we saw Durston having his second run back off a long break. Unfortunately, the race was not run to suit, forcing him to roll forward and use his energy in the wrong part of the race. Andrew Adkins didn’t knock him about so the margin of defeat was exaggerated. A part from a black eye he has come through the run well so we will draw a line through that and look forward to his next start.
Another horse we are looking forward to resuming is Olympic Theatre he is entered for Two options, tomorrow at Kensingston And Saturday at Kembla Grange. We will have to wait until tomorrow morning to see which way Freedman Training head. Either way being first up we won’t have high expectations, naturally, he will be better with a few runs under his belt and as he gets out over a longer trip.
Bartholomeu Dias has enjoyed a nice freshen and will head to Eagle Farm, the scene of his last victory, on Saturday. Make sure you keep an eye on our socials for race times.
If you are on our socials you would’ve seen the impressive trial of Armageddon on Monday. Coming back as a gelding this time in the Bjorn Baker team has him going terrific. A son of Deep Field, we have always had a high opinion of him but as a colt, he just wasn’t concentrating on the job at hand, a simple operation seems to have fixed that and it won’t be long until we see him on the racetrack.
The same goes for our Pariah Gelding, Korolev. He has been pleasing the Ciaron Maher Racing team at Ballarat and he is another of the younger horses that we are excited to see hit the race track. The Pariah progeny look like they will be better with age, and Korolev is no different, he has come back a far better 3YO.
Great House’s Melbourne Cup preparation has also commenced well. He has a little hit out the other day and will have another before returning to the races in early September, with all eyes firmly set on another hit at the Melbourne Cup!
It certainly is exciting times ahead for Highclere Racing Australia and there is no better time to join the team. There are ownership opportunities currently available in 3 of the Highclere horses, you can view these at highclereracing.com.au or email info@highclereracing.com.au
