HIGHCLERE RACING'S WEEKLY NEWS

26/10/22
What a terrific couple of weeks it has been for Highclere Racing Australia. To have Durston sneak into the Caulfield Cup the morning of the race and become the first emergency to win the Caulfield Cup was amazing. Congratulations again to his owners!
Since then it has been full steam ahead to the Melbourne Cup where he received a 2kg penalty, the same given to Ethereal when she went on to win the Caulfield/Melbourne Cup double. It is a feat not many have been able to do and the weather gods look slightly against Durston, but as they say in racing “anything can happen”. Michael Dee rode a tremendous race but due to commitments to ride Lunar Flare in the Melbourne Cup he was unable to ride Durston but we were able to secure a terrific replacement in Damien Oliver.
Not only is Damien riding to be the jockey with the most Melbourne Cup wins, it is also 20 years since his emotional win on Media Puzzle just a week after the passing of his brother Jason. What a fairytale story this would be for all involved.
It will be a busy Melbourne Cup day with Bartholomeu Dias also lining up in a supporting race on the day and Olympic Theatre will run in the little dance at Randwick.
Great House who performed below expectations in the Caulfield Cup will bypass the Melbourne Cup and run on either Derby Day or wait a week for Champions Stakes Day to round out the carnival.
What an exciting time for Highclere Racing Australia, with only 8 horses in the team 4 will line up during the biggest week of racing in Australia, the Melbourne Cup Carnival.
After the carnival the excitement will certainly continue with Highland Cathedral back in the stables and it won’t be long before Armageddon is back as well, which is shaping up to be an exciting Summer for the younger horses of the team.
With shares still available in Olympic Theatre, Highland Cathedral and Korolev there is really no better time to get involved and enjoy the success our owners have experienced over the last few months.
How do you get involved, simply email info@highclereracing.com.au and we will send you all the information you require or head to our website www.highclereracing.com.au for more information on the 3 horses.
Best of luck to everyone over the Melbourne Cup Carnival, as always make sure you keep an eye on our socials for all the action on and off the track.
