HIGHCLERE RACING WEEKLY NEWS

6/12/22
This week saw Olympic Theatre head to Rosehill after a terrific second in the Queanbeyan Cup, he drew an awkward draw on Saturday and although didn’t find as much as we would’ve hoped late it did suggest that he may even want further, which he has always shown. Therefore he could line up on a quick back up at Warwick Farm tomorrow over 2400m.
We then look forward to Saturday with the return of last start winner, Bartholomeu Dias, in the Group 2, Ingham Stakes over 1600m. He has had a nice freshen-up at the beach and although short of his best distance he looks amazing and we can’t fault him so hopefully, he can make the step up in grade, he always tries 110% so Saturday will be no different.
Saturday could also see the return of the Bjorn Baker trained Highland Cathedral. She has had 2 nice trials leading into her return run and has certainly returned a more mature filly so it looks like very exciting times ahead. She is starting off over 1400m but based on her debut preparation and trackwork it may be a little too short as she looks like a filly who will cover distance in time. If you want a runner on Saturday email info@highclerearcing.com.au as there looks to be a few shares left in this Highland Reel filly, but we don’t think they will last long.
It won’t be long until we see Armageddon at the track, he is looking to trial in a few weeks' time and is another of the young horses that have benefited from the time in the paddock and returned a more mature horse.
Speaking of horses returning, in a blink of an eye Durston has enjoyed his spell and is already back in work as he starts his preparation for the Autumn. After such a wonderful preparation culminating in winning the Caulfield Cup, we can’t wait to see what he can do in the Autumn and beyond.
Christmas isn’t far away so if you are stuck for a gift, head to Fan Fave Australia for some Highclere merchandise, you can even get it personalised with their favourite horse's name on it!
Enjoy the week's racing and good luck to all the Highclere owners with runners this week.
