SHOOTING FOR THE STARS

Sea the Stars is the sire of Highclere’s European import, Hint of Stars.
Sea the Stars was born in 2006, he is by Cape Cross out of Urban Sea. He stands at the Aga Khan Studs which holds dual geographical locations in both Ireland and France. The Aga Khan needs no introduction to racing, the name steeped in racing since 1904.
Cape Cross himself and G1 winner taking out the Lockinge. He is also a winner of the Queen Anne Stakes and the Celebration Mile. Urban Sea, the dam of the great Galileo, was an Arc winner herself.
The result of this breeding combination was Sea The Stars who recorded a remarkable six consecutive G1 victories in 2009, winning the 2,000 Guineas, the Derby, the Eclipse, the Juddmonte International, the Irish Champion Stakes and the Arc.
“He’s one of these landmark horses that come along every 25 – 30 years and people will always remember him.” - John Oxx
He retired to stud in October of 2009 and wasted no time producing quality progeny. He is the sire of more than 100 stakes winners and 19 Group 1 winners including Baaeed, Sea la Rosa, Emily Up John, Hukum and the list goes on.
He was a champion on the track but off the track, he continues to go to new heights. In 2022 he was the leading Irish-based sire in Europe by Prize Money. He is a stallion that continues to excite.
There is no wonder with his pedigree why Hint of Stars was chosen by Highclere Racing to be imported to Australia and we look forward to watching his career unfold.
